Packer College is the diocesan seminary of the Anglican Diocese of Canada (ADoC). The College offers divinity programs that meet the educational requirements for ordination as a priest/presbyter in the ADoC, and the wider Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Packer is also a partner institution of the worldwide Global Anglican Communion, and the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON).
Packer's three-year Licentiate in Theology (LTh), one-year Anglican Studies Program diploma, and one-year Diaconal Program certificate, are open to qualified candidates who have been approved by the Bishop and Diocesan Ordination Chaplain, and who submit a formal application for admission to Packer College. Upon recognition as an ordinand of the diocese, students become eligible for significant bursary assistance.
Packer College has yet to receive accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools. Students who have taken courses for MDiv credit, and who wish to transfer such to Packer, are welcome to contact our Executive Administrator/Registrar to inquire about the process (admin@packercollege.ca). Specifically, we have an agreement regarding transfer credit from Reformed Episcopal Seminary (RES) in Philadelphia, an ATS accredited school in the United States. In addition, individuals with MDiv degrees from non-Anglican seminaries may (with the bishop's approval) qualify for our Anglican Studies Program, as a prerequisite for episcopal ordination.
