A study of both the medieval church and the 16th century Protestant Reformation, focusing on major figures, movements, and events of theological and cultural significance, including the seeds of modern denominationalism in the west.

A systematic study of Christian theology proper, with special attention to God, Creation, and the nature and scope of revelation.
History 1: Early Church

A study of the first six centuries of the Christian church, with special attention to the distinctives of Pre- and Post-Constantinian Christianity including key individuals and theological developments, as well as cultural and historical developments.
Pastoral Ministry

A practical study of ministry in the Church, including topics such as pastoral counseling, finances, visitation, parish evangelism, and conflict resolution. The first part of the course (Sept. 10th - Oct. 15th) will introduce students to various aspects of Anglican pastoral care. There will be a particular focus on pastoral visitation and spiritual warfare. The second part of the course (Nov. 15th - Dec. 20th) will be shared with diaconal students and will focus on developing a pastor's heart. Topics include: guilt and shame, mission and pastoral care, and self-care.

Introduction to the Diaconate

Introduction to the Diaconate will support students in shaping their unique call to the diaconate. Topics include: leading worship, prayer, catechizing and preaching, and pastoral care. Class sessions will be taught by different instructors, giving the students a chance to see this ministry from different viewpoints.
Giving Pastoral Care

The focus of this course will be on developing a pastor's heart. Topics include: guilt and shame, mission and pastoral care, and self-care Diaconal students and divinity students will share in this course. Discussion and examples from pastoral experience will be important.
