David grew up in Etobicoke, Ontario. After graduating from the University of Toronto, he went on to do a Master’s and a PhD at Dalhousie University, with a doctoral thesis on St. Augustine. He then completed a Master of Divinity degree from Wycliffe College prior to ordination.  


For 16 years he ministered in Anglican churches in northern Saskatchewan, and along with his pastoral duties taught at James Settee College for Cree ordinands.  David also taught theology courses--and served on the Senate--at the College of Emmanuel & St. Chad in Saskatoon, as well as teaching online courses for Wycliffe College.  He subsequently ministered in Eastern Ontario, where he also taught Systematic Theology at Ryle Seminary. His chief academic interests are the theology of St. Augustine, Anglican theology, and the theology of Luke/Acts.  


He and his wife Tracey have two daughters, and live in St. John’s.
