MISSION AND VALUES

Mission

Training leaders to build biblically faithful, gospel sharing, Anglican churches.

Vision

Preparing ministers to reach Canada for Christ so that he may have dominion from sea to sea.

Values

  • ANGLICAN HERITAGE. Packer is an Anglican diocesan college, proudly Anglican, that produces graduates for ordained ministry for the entire denomination--3 stream, men and women--to fill Canada with the gospel.
  • ACADEMIC DEPTH. The curriculum will be traditional, orthodox, and Anglican that emphasizes core courses in the Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical languages, History, Theology, and Pastoral Studies, with few electives.
  • QUALIFIED ANGLICAN PROFESSORS. Instructors are to be Anglicans with subject matter expertise who meet professional ATS teaching standards.
  • RESIDENTIAL AND SMALL. The college will be residential (as opposed to largely online), with a "craft beer" model, as opposed to a large, Budweiser model.
  • PREPARING ORDINANDS FOR SACRIFICIAL MINISTRY. The primary purpose of the college is to prepare clergy and those called to missionary service, as opposed to training lay leaders, or those going on to advanced degrees.
  • NO DEBT BURDEN. The college will be designed not to burden students with debt, so they may graduate, be ordained, and to go where they are called and needed.
  • ANGLICAN FORMATION. Students will be immersed in Anglican formation and practical ministry, through the rhythm of daily chapel, community life, and serving  in ministry.
  • COMMITMENTS OF BOARD AND FACUTLY. The board and faculty will be bound by the Founding Principles, and operate within ANiC canons.
  • CHARTER AND ACCREDITATION. Obtaining a charter (to enable us to confer degrees) is necessary, and should be obtained as quickly as practical. The college will seek accreditation, and be compliant with ATS guidelines before achieving accreditation.
