Kyung graduated from Regent College with an MDiv and from the University of Manchester with a PhD. His doctoral dissertation, Re-reading the Gospel of Matthew: Scripture in the Hands of the King’s Scribe, focuses on Second Temple Jewish interpretative strategies and scribal practices for understanding Matthew.

 

Currently, Kyung researches in the areas of New Testament, Dead Sea Scrolls, hermeneutics, and early Jewish and Christian texts. He is the VP of Academic Affairs at Pacific Life Bible College and Director of Biblical and Theological Studies. In addition, he is the Director of the Dead Sea Scrolls Institute at Trinity Western University and a part-time instructor in their undergraduate and graduate programs.

 

Kyung, his wife Linda, and their three children live in Langley, British Columbia.
